Non-Construction

Most people imagine swinging a hammer at a construction site when they think about volunteering for Habitat. Houston Habitat welcomes volunteers to assist in many areas.  We have wall builds in the warehouse, clarical duties duties in our offices, and opportunities at our ReStore facility.  Many of our church affiliated youth groups choose to install landscaping at the home site or building walls here in the warehouse.

Youth organizations and families who are interestted in volunteering together with their youngsters will help out here at our warehouse.  Our youth policy states that "no youth under the age of 14 will be allowed to participate in any constrution projects in anyway". Youth 14 and up may assist in assembling wall frames. Youth 16 and up may use these frames to construct homes at the job site.  You don't need to be an expert in any of these fields to help out! There are many tasks that require only a willingness to learn and work with others.

Listed below are some of the non-construction volunteer opportunities.

Wall Build

From time to time we need volunteers to assemble the frames that will be used to build a home.
