Build Homes in the Dominican Republic

In the Dominican Republic, high rates of poverty, expensive construction materials and devastating hurricanes have left many families living in poorly constructed homes and substandard conditions. Many are forced to make or forage for their own building materials, which are seldom able to withstand the elements and deteriorate with ease. During this Global Village trip, Houston Habitat for Humanity will partner with the local affiliate to help replace self-constructed homes with ones built with proper building techniques and materials and to improve safety and sanitation.

Join this five-day trip and work with us and the local community to improve the housing conditions of families living in extreme poverty, all while immersing yourself in the culture of this beautiful country.
