How it works: The applicant must apply online, complete our program, and purchase an affordable home with Houston Habitat.
Refer from your network: Current Houston Habitat Homeowners and Family Partners can refer potential applicants to our Homeownership Program.
Your reward: 30 days after your referral closes on their home, you’ll receive a payment equal to one month’s mortgage — up to $1,500! (Supporting documentation required.)

Disclaimers

The mortgage payment amount must be confirmed from the 1st Lien mortgage holder.
The maximum payment allowed is $1,500.
Referral qualification will be determined after the official board approval and notification.
Existing Habitat Homeowners must inform Houston Habitat that they referred an applicant either during the application or initial approval phase.
Family partners are also eligible to refer family and friends to the Homeowner Referral Program. Family partners must be a Houston Habitat homeowner at the time the referred client closes on their Habitat home.
All applications will be reviewed and considered impartially and fairly by Houston Habitat’s candidate selection and mortgage underwriting guidelines (i.e., no preferential, biased, or prejudiced consideration will be given to referrals).
For referral payment, the referred applicant must successfully complete the homeownership program and close on a Houston Habitat for Humanity affordable home.
Habitat Homeowners are not limited to the number of referrals that they can make or the mortgage payments that they can earn.
The existing Habitat Homeowner must be in good standing.
Payments will be made directly to the existing Habitat Homeowner.
