We accept all appliances in working condition.

Only complete units with all doors and drawers, shelves, display racks, etc

Doors must be in good condition. No holes, cracks, rot, etc. All types accepted.

Fixtures, parts, wire, plugs, plates and the hardware associated with electrical wiring are accepted.

Ceiling and floor fans must be complete and in working condition.

New carpet only, vinyl, tile, and hardwood. We do not accept used carpet and laminate.

All furniture should be cleaned before pickup and free of any tears or other damage.

Almost all types of hardware: knobs, hinges, locks, etc. if not rusty. Any quantity of nails, screws, connectors, etc.

All light fixtures must be in working condition.

Full and half sheets of plywood, full lengths of lumber, trim in smaller pieces (but no less than 4 ft long). Free of rot, nails and screws.

Mirrors and Glass must be framed.No loose pieces of glass or unframed mirrors.

Full containers of latex paint and stain purchased from a paint store. No leftovers are allowed. We cannot take toxic, hazardous substances (i.e. pesticides, powders, paint thinners). Wallpaper is taken in full, unopened rolls.

4 ft and over of any type of pipe: all supplies and fittings.

Plumbing fixtures must be clean and in good condition. Toilets must be clean, and low flush (1.6 gallons).

All types of roofing material, such as rolled roofing material, tar, metal and bundles of new shingles. Also, roofing gutter & canale materials that are in full, and not rusty, bent or damaged.

All hand and power tools in good working condition.

Currently, only new windows will be accepted.

One way to support the Houston Habitat ReStore is to donate items salvaged from demolition of part or all of your home or other structure.  Also known as deconstruction, it’s easy to do.  First, complete the demo.  If you believe that the donation is worth more than $5,000, have it appraised by an independent appraiser to establish the value for tax purposes.  Then deliver it to one of our ReStores; or schedule a pick-up and assemble and segregate the items on the ground floor or in an area accessible by elevator.  Upon receipt at our ReStore or pick-up by our drivers, we will issue you a receipt.  Use the receipt and the appraisal to document the donation for your taxes.

Remember that all donations must comply with our donation acceptance guidelines and that we do not accept items from flooded structures, since we can’t be sure of their structural integrity and that they are mold free.
