A review of all the programs available including City of Houston, HELB, Bootstrap, and Community Land Trust. Learn how the Houston Habitat team can help you identify and apply to the right program for you.

11:15 AM – Banking 101:

Learn the basics of why you need to have a bank account including protecting your money and qualifying for a mortgage.

A general overview of the mortgage and lending process and what perspective home buyers need to know.

Fall Virtual Homeownership Fair Speakers

Allison Hay serves as the Executive Director of Houston Habitat for Humanity.

Allison has been in the nonprofit industry for 21 years, with the past nine years at Houston Habitat for Humanity. Prior to Houston Habitat, she was with Presbyterian School for 12 years working in admissions and then advancement. Allison has a strong passion for helping others and is dedicated to addressing the affordable housing crisis in Houston.

 

 

 

Cassandra Robinson-Bacon serves as the Homeowner Services Director at Houston Habitat for Humanity.

In this position, she leads Houston Habitat’s strategic plan to strengthen and prepare families to be “home buyer ready” and to develop a community of financial and real-estate resources to support the initiative.

 

 

 

 

Gretchen Grace serves as the Mortgage Loan Originator at Veritex Bank.

Gretchen is a professional with over 30 years of experience in mortgage banking. Her vast knowledge of an ever changing mortgage process, along with a high emphasis on personalized service, make her uniquely qualified to structure the best available loan program for any client.

 

 

 

 

Jessica Monsivais serves as the AVP-Branch Manager at East West Bank.

Jessica has been in banking for over 16 years, and her passion has always been helping customers achieve their goals through financial guidance and education.

 

 

 

 

 

Sylvia Villalpando serves as the Homeowner Services Manager at Houston Habitat for Humanity.

Sylvia joined Houston Habitat in 2019. She manages all aspects of the homebuyer application process and works directly with families to ensure they achieve their goal of homeownership.

 

 

 

 

 

Monica Tutt serves as the Homeowner Services Specialist at Houston Habitat for Humanity.

She is originally from the small town of Tabor City, NC where she grew up near the beach. She went on to graduate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Psychology. Monica enjoys working with families through their journey to homeownership.
