What is the ReStore?

The Houston Habitat ReStore is a home improvement store that offers new and like-new building materials including furniture, paint, cabinetry and more at deeply discounted prices.

Proceeds go toward our mission of eliminating substandard housing in Houston.

The store is open to the public.

Volunteer Opportunities

The ReStore is currently seeking volunteers in the following departments:

Deconstruction: This department is in need of daily volunteers to help in the deconstruction of homes and businesses. It is not uncommon to lift up to 50-75 pounds at a time, or to help move couches, large windows, cast iron tubs, heavy doors, and appliances. If you have any medical concerns (pregnancy, back prblems, etc.), or cannot handle the physical demands above, please do not consider this position.

Communications & Development: This position consists of researching items to determine a value for resale, email marketing to local businesses for donations, ReStore communications, filing, and other clerical duties. You may set your days/hours for this position, and must be able to dedicate a minimum of 4 hours at a time.
